Administrative Assistant
Sherrie is a long-time member of Speedway United Methodist Church and began serving in her current position as administrative assistant in July 2017. She has volunteered in numerous roles throughout her time at SUMC, with her most notable contributions in the Children’s Ministry, in which she now serves as the coordinator. Sherrie grew up on the west side of Indianapolis and is a graduate of Ben Davis High School. She and her husband, Jim, moved to Speedway in 1984, where they still reside. Speedway is also home to their two daughters and sons-in-law, one son, and five grandchildren. Her most treasured pastime is spending quality time with her family. Sherrie has prior work experience as the bookkeeper for her family business, in which she acquired skills that aid in her present role. She is excited to see where God is leading her on this new path and is passionate about sharing God’s love with others.

Why Work for Speedway UMC?
Why not! I love this church. I have the opportunity to work with people I care about and get to know them on a more personal level.
What most excites you about the future of Speedway UMC?
The church has embarked on a mission to transform our community. With prayer, we are exploring creative ways to share God’s love. Currently, we are working with Messy Church. I am excited to reach as many people as possible to share God’s love inside and outside the church walls.
