Music Ministry
Our music ministry exists to provide a musical vehicle to deliver God’s Word so that people can be led through praise and worship to become stronger disciples of Jesus Christ.
Rehearsals are each Wednesday
6:00 – 7:00 pm – Bell Choir
7:00 – 8:00 pm – Chancel Choir
8:00 – 9:00 pm – Praise Band
In our desire to continue to grow and develop in our musical praise here at SUMC, anyone with a sincere desire to share their musical talent is invited to join any of our musical worship groups.
Chancel Choir
The chancel choir sings both traditional and contemporary worship music for both worship services during the school year. Two annual musical highlights are our Advent and Lenten Cantatas. These special presentations celebrate God’s greatest gift, the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, honor the sacrifice and crucifixion of Jesus on the cross, and the resurrection of our Savior for all mankind, illustrating God’s divine love for each one of us.
Bell Choir
Our Bell Choir plays the featured anthem for our services on the 3rd Sunday of each month during the school year (September – June). We try to work on diverse styles of positive songs that are fun to play and reflect the diversity of our players and congregation.
Praise Band
The SUMC Praise Band plays every Sunday morning for our 10:45 services all year long. We can all join in to lift our voices and hearts to God, singing enlightening and heartwarming contemporary Christian songs, or even an old favorite hymn with a new twist.
