Children and Youth Ministry Volunteers
Volunteers are always needed for our Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry activities, events, fundraisers, and service projects. Volunteers may participate as often or as little as their schedules allow. However, in line with the United Methodist Church Safe Sanctuaries policies, and for the safety of God’s most precious gift, our children, background checks and trainings are required to volunteer. Completing these requirements does NOT automatically commit you to a certain level of volunteering. Still, it allows you the flexibility to serve our Children and Youth whenever and wherever possible with your schedule.
In addition to completing the below-required forms, please e-mail the Children and Youth Ministry Leaders at youth@speedway-umc.org to schedule a time to enter your information through our online account with the Department of Child Services of Indiana and complete our SUMC required training to review the UMC Safe Sanctuaries policies, mandatory reporting requirements, and to learn more about our current SUMC Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry activities and events needing volunteers. These trainings are held at least quarterly throughout the year but can be scheduled more often if the need arises.
Trainings will be quarterly or on a as-needed basis. Stay tuned for additional 2024 training dates.
Please email the Youth Ministry Coordinator at youth@speedway-umc.org with more questions about volunteering or training dates. *Completing volunteer and training requirements does NOT automatically commit you to specific events but will add your name to our volunteer email list so you are notified about opportunities to serve.
